Introduction to the Use of Deadly Force

Abstract
The Introduction to the Use of Deadly Force course is designed around State of Hawaii and current federal laws for the law abiding armed citizens in the judicious use of deadly force in self defense.
The class is devoted to the legal, ethical, and moral issues of defending oneself and third parties with deadly force. The main points are "physical survival" and "Legal court survival." The primary objective is on developing a mindset that allow you to cope with life-threatening stress while remaining defensible in a court of law. Selection of firearms, ammunition, and holsters and other accessories are covered but not emphasized

Prerequisite: NRA Basic pistol course graduate or graduate of a nationally recognized basic pistol course of 8 hours or more in length. No exceptions!. Copy of certifications for the above must be submitted prior to enrollment.
Ammunition 200 rounds factory new ammunition is required.
Recommended Equipment List:
- Quality Semi-Auto Pistol in one of the following calibers:
- .380, 9mm NATO, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP
- 3 magazines minimum
- Belt mounted, dominant side concealment
- Magazine Pouches
- Sturdy Belt at least 1.5" wide
- Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning.
- Clothing suitable for training . Pants must have belt loops. It is highly recommended you bring a variety of your personal concealment clothing items to this course.
- Hat with a brim
- Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Earmuffs and earplugs
